We’re going to see a lot of new features in Motorola’s new 5G phones. You may be wondering what Motorola’s latest mobile phones are.
So, without spending too much time, let’s look at our list of new phones for 2023 with release dates and features. Some of these new moto phones will come with 5G others may have 4G.
Best Upcoming Motorola Phones in 2023
Here are some of the new 5G models Motorola is launching in 2023 with new features:
1. Moto G Play (2023)
Motorola has announced a new affordable Moto G Play phone just in time for the holiday season, and it will be available on January 12, 2023.
The display retains the same size and resolution as Moto G Play’s previous generation. One difference is that it now supports a 90Hz refresh rate. What an excellent addition.
The camera array on the back has also been upgraded. The primary camera is now 16MP with an aperture of f/1.22 and a pixel size of 1.0µm. There’s also a 2MP macro and 2MP depth camera, making it three sets. However, given the phone’s price point and what we’ve seen from Motorola with budget handsets, it’s probably safe to assume the images aren’t impressive.
At best, the primary camera can deliver some usable photos, but we’ll let you know when we review the phone.
The downside is that the lack of NFC is hard to brush off. Especially in 2023, there is no reason phones won’t have NFC. Many people use this feature daily to make payments through their mobile phones. It would make a lot more sense to forego the IP52 water-repellent certification that the new Moto G Play has and instead include NFC connectivity.
What makes it dial is that the Moto G Play 2023 version comes with a MediaTek Helio G37 processor, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage, expandable up to 512GB via a microSD card.
One of the main advantages of this budget Motorola phone is its large battery. Unsurprisingly, the Moto G Play has a 5,000mAh battery inside, so the battery life is long.
Motorola claims up to three days of use on a single charge. Unfortunately, the charging speed of up to 10W is very disappointing. The large battery size means it takes quite a while to charge.
Perhaps the most significant upgrade over its predecessor is the Moto G Play (2023) design, which is much more modern and cleaner. It might be an ultra-budget phone, but at least it looks decent and respectable, albeit still plastic.
That being said, the 2023 edition of the Moto G Play is shaping up to be a rugged phone to recommend, but we’ll have to wait until we throw it through its paces and see if it’s any good for real life. Stay tuned for our upcoming review if you’re interested in buying one.
2. Motorola Frontier
Yes, it is accurate, and it is happening. Motorola could produce the world’s first smartphone with a 200-megapixel camera. Rumour has it that Motorola’s upcoming mobile Motorola moto Frontier will have impressive internal specs, screen size, camera settings, battery timing, and excellent performance.
At the same time, rumours are circulating that the handset could become part of the Moto Edge 30 series in a ‘Plus‘ variant. It was codenamed Frontier 22.
We will be the first to adopt. It’s a 1/22-inch 200MP that captures 50MP or 12.5MP images based on two pixel-binning modes. Some renders show a 194MP sensor, but the branding surrounding Moto’s camera module confirms a 200MP lens with an f/2.2 aperture.
Motorola Frontier 22’s display supports a resolution of up to 1080×2400 pixels and a screen size of 6.6 inches.
The performance of the Moto Frontier is based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 chipset and GPU. The mobile comes with a battery capacity of 5000 mAh.

3. Motorola Felix 2023
A recent report suggests that Motorola is developing a rollable smartphone known internally as the Felix. The news is that rollable smartphones are in the early stages of development. The Motorola Felix is said to have followed in Motorola Razer’s footsteps regarding form factor. It will reportedly feature a vertically extending rolling display according to the Razr design.
91mobiles reports that Motorola’s rollable handset Felix was a compact smartphone when it wasn’t released. The phone’s display will be stretched vertically rather than horizontally, creating a higher aspect ratio. This model is also small and pocket-friendly, resembling a regular smartphone when unfolded.
When the display launches, it is reported that the smartphone will resemble a tablet device in landscape mode. According to reports, the Motorola Felix phone software uses a new Android 12 feature that splits one contagious display.
This prototype is known to work in the same way that it unfolds on the floor. That means you’ll have less screen space to work on at the end of the day, but you’ll get a much more pocket-friendly phone while retaining the standard five or 6-inch screen we’re all used to today.
The report says that Motorola’s rollable smartphone could take more than a year to bear fruit, and the entire project could be scrapped.
So we can expect Motorola Felix to be released in Q2 of 2023.
