Motorola often releases new smartphones, and the Motorola G62 5G is one of them. So, let’s see how much this Motorola G62 5G costs! When will it be released, and what new features will we see on this Moto phone?
Motorola G62 5G (2024) Review
The Motorola G62 5G is worth buying because it has nearly everything users want in a budget smartphone. The device has s a 120hz 6.50 panel. If you’re okay with an LCD and decent camera, the Motorola G62 5G is your best bet. Otherwise, it’s a decent smartphone at a decent price for the average user.
Denote
Motorola has been doing well until it decided to remove the AMOLED panel from the Moto G62 5G. There is no problem with the LCD panel now. Motorola sells most of its smartphones online, and it’s hard to manipulate users compared to the offline market.
The Motorola G62 5G comes with a 6.50-inch 120Hz LED panel with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and a density of 405 PPI. Motorola didn’t comment on what glass they used for the front, but the frame and back are plastic.
The device also has an LED panel, so Motorola has added a fingerprint sensor on the side. The display could have been better, but it’s not that bad.
Camera
We see these same camera setups on the Motorola G71, but Motorola hasn’t changed much. The Motorola G62 5G has a 50MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, a 2MP macro sensor, and a 16MP front camera. The rear camera can shoot video at 1080p@30/60fps, and the front camera can shoot at 1080p@30fps.
Now we all know that the Snapdragon 695 SoC doesn’t support 4K, so whatever Motorola does, it won’t add 4K video recording unless it uses a different processor. By the way, the device does not have OIS support and depends on EIS.
The 50MP primary sensor produces good images under good lighting, and dynamic range is not an issue either. Images have softness or sharpness. In a nutshell, Motorola worked on daytime photography.
Most night images have dynamic range issues, and you’ll be disappointed because the images are smoother and sharper. In other words, night images are not available at all. Even with night mode turned on, the image is the same.
The 8MP Ultra Wide also captures the same colours as the main sensor, but the details aren’t identical since it’s an 8MP sensor. Again, don’t use ultra-wide lenses at night.
Here is a 2MP macro added for the showcase. Going back to the 16MP front camera, I had great hopes for a front camera, but it didn’t live up to it.
The front sensor is meant to add sharpness and softness and whiten the skin. Again, I have the same dynamic range problem. The sensor tries to expose too much of the background, and in the meantime, details are lost.
The camera isn’t that bad, but it doesn’t justify it. You could get a better camera phone for under 10000.
Performance
Motorola G62 5G is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC and runs on Android 12. Motorola has promised one year of OS updates and three years of security updates.
Most Android brands promise two OS updates, but Motorola isn’t fair because it’s not good for users who promised only one OS update to keep their smartphones for more than three years and not get Android 14.
For those who don’t know, the Motorola G62 5G global version has a Snapdragon 480+ processor, while Motorola has offered the Snapdragon 695 in the Indian version.
There are also 10 5G bands, so there is no need to worry. The Snapdragon 695 is a good SoC, but it’s not a gaming processor; it’s a good processor for everyday use.
You should have no problems using your smartphone daily; again, Motorola should have used a different processor.
Sound
Be prepared to hear the news. Yes, after a long time, Motorola decided to add stereo speakers, which work great. It also has a secondary noise-cancelling microphone, which is a great help for calls. It also supports carrier aggregation.
Now the surprise is that Motorola has added a 3.5mm audio jack. Overall the speaker quality is great, and call quality is not a problem.
Battery life
The Motorola G62 5G has a 5,000mAh battery that supports 20W charging. This is a huge disappointment as there are tons of smartphones with 30W and 50W fast charging under £199.99, and here comes a Motorola that only supports 20W charging.
Overall, the battery lasts a day, and the Snapdragon 695 SoC is a power-efficient SoC with longer battery life. Of course, if you’re a heavy user, the battery won’t last a day, but if you’re a normal user, it can last more than a day.
