Motorola’s upcoming Moto X40 has appeared in an online regulatory database, giving us a first glimpse of what to expect when it’s announced.
Its online database is China TENAA, the national version of the FCC, and is known for pre-sharing details of previously unannounced products. With the release of the Motorola Moto X40, it has started again.
Motorola Moto X40 Specs and Leaks
According to that TENAA listing, we can expect the Moto X40 to come with a curved OLED display and a hole-punch camera array. Rumors already have that display being a Full HD+ affair supporting a 165Hz refresh rate, but we may have to wait for confirmation.
A fingerprint scanner appears to be built into the power button on the right side of the display, and the volume buttons are also on the same side.
There have also been rumors of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 built into the new phone, with Chen Jin, Lenovo Group General Manager of Lenovo China Mobile. They’ll also use LPDDR5X RAM, adding that it won’t wait for the chip to chew data.
It is still unknown when the Moto X40 will go on sale. However, if Lenovo’s mobile president is talking specs, it won’t be too far in the future. The rumor mill has been released internationally on the card, perhaps under a different name.
Release date
The Motorola Moto X40 is expected to release in the earlier 2023.
