Pros and Cons of Buying Motorola

Before deciding whether Motorola phones are worth buying, here are some things to worry about and feel tired about your Motorola phone: This analysis can help you decide whether to stick with Moto or buy something else.

Advantages of Motorola phones

Motorola phones have a simple Android interface. This means the company didn’t put much effort into breaking the software. Simple and easy to use. There is often some bloatware, but almost anything can be easily removed.

Advantages of Motorola phones

The phone comes with 256GB to 512GB of storage space. This isn’t the case for all Motorola phones, but most offer capacities beyond the 128GB currently found in their peers.

They have the best battery life. The company has packed a big battery into this slim phone, which can last two days on a single charge, surpassing its competitors.

There is extensive carrier support with good reception. Some Motorola Android phones offer great reception and often work on most, if not all, networks (the company lists carrier support details in the specs section for all of its phones). They all work for the big three: T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon. Be sure to purchase it unlocked.

Disadvantages of Motorola phones

Prices drop frequently. Never buy a Motorola phone at MSRP. They almost always go on sale months (or weeks) after release, sometimes at steep discounts.

Motorola’s software updates are lacklustre. The company is slowly improving, promising to deliver three Android OS updates and four years of bi-monthly security updates for its high-end smartphones, but it still lags behind its competitors.

DisAdvantages of Motorola phones

What’s worse is that Moto G series phones only get one OS Android update (including three years of security updates), so you’ll miss out on new Android features quickly.

Here are some things to worry about and feel tired about your Motorola phone: This analysis can help you decide whether to stick with Moto or buy something else.

Are Motorola Phones Worth Buying in 2024?

In the years since Motorola has made so many mistakes that it’s easy to understand fans ignore the company entirely. Brands have exited and re-entered the flagship space countless times. Over the years, the company has bounced back and forth between X-series, Z-series, and Edge series devices, trading high-end and mid-range specs, and the overall lineup has become more confusing than ever.

The company’s refocused efforts in the budget space have seen its most tremendous success, with reviewers praising the Moto G series long before Google and Samsung targeted the same audience. But as competition from those brands grew, Motorola failed to offer much more than an essential experience.

The problem continues today with four G series devices announced this year alone, including two devices named “Moto G Stylus“. That’s too much, especially when support for these products is subpar at best.

Take the Moto Edge+, for example. The latest version of Motorola’s premium lineup may be the first product worth buying. It rocks the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and delivers a Pixel-like software experience for just $800. That’s not bad, especially compared to the Galaxy S23+; read more, Motorola vs Samsung Budget Phones, to know which brand is better.

It has almost all the essential features in a sleek, lightweight package. The company also seems to be moving back into an interesting experimental phase. ThinkPhone is a bit strange. It’s a business smartphone with an aged carbon fibre finish reminiscent of Lenovo’s laptop design.

But it’s a pretty good device if you can use an ordinary camera. On the other side of weirdness, Motorola’s big demo at this year’s MWC was a rollable concept phone called the Rizr that is neat, first and foremost.

And the Moto Razr+ is the smartphone of the year so far, beating out Samsung and Google. Dozens of reviewers across the web seemed to love Motorola’s dual-screen smartphone.

So, are Motorola phones worth buying? Yes, Motorola is proving to be a compelling competitor in the mobile space for flagships alone. It could be an excellent alternative for those bored with other Galaxy S series phones or Pixels.

If companies like Samsung or Google are reluctant to break the mould and try strange ideas, it’s good to know that at least one brand is trying to make smartphones enjoyable again and succeeding. Likewise, Motorola needs to introduce improved security policies for its budget smartphones. Although, as mentioned earlier, the advantages of Motorola phones make it worth buying in 2024 over its competition brand.
