Its sleek design, powerful performance, impressive display quality, and versatile camera features combine to make it an attractive choice for anyone looking for a reliable and powerful mid-range smartphone. Motorola Edge 2024 Review
Motorola Edge 2024 is delivered in a small, eco-friendly box made from recycled materials. The packaging is simple yet elegant and reflects the brand’s commitment to sustainability. The front of the box displays the Motorola logo and the name of the device, while the sides and back display basic information about the phone.
Display
Always-on screens have always been my preference, and they are really popular now. This feature is common on most of the best Android phones, and now it’s available on iPhones as well. The Edge Plus (2023) offers a unique variant of this Edge Lights. This feature illuminates the curved edges of the display in different colors depending on when notifications are received rather than a genuine always-on display.
This is useful but not as useful as accessing the date, time, and other important notification symbols. Curved displays also present additional challenges.
Although it may seem strange to give up a curved display in favor of a phone labeled Edge, it’s important to remember that the Edge Plus (2022) has a flat display. I’d also argue that Motorola’s superior specs will allow the brand to become known for future innovations rather than just display types.
Camera
Motorola isn’t exactly known for having the best cameras these days. Edge Plus (2023) has made some progress in this area, which is good news. For the most part, the camera package delivered aesthetically pleasing, natural colors and details. Zoom performance could have been better, with strong green saturation even on bright sunny days. Electronic video stabilization is also a bit inadequate.
If Motorola wants to compete successfully with other high-end flagships, it needs to invest more effort in improving the photography experience, including both software and hardware aspects.
Software
Motorola hasn’t always provided the best software support. But with the launch of Edge Plus (2023), things started to change. It’s worth noting that it now offers 4 years of security coverage and 3 years of Android support. However, we’ll have to wait and see how well Motorola adheres to its software policy, as it doesn’t always keep its promises.
